All About Birds Family Day in Arrow Rock

February 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Celebrate birds! Discover simple ways you can help birds thrive and then participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. Join the Missouri River Bird Observatory and Missouri State Parks for this family friendly event. We will begin our adventure at the Arrow Rock State Historic Site Visitor Center. Create bird friendly crafts, take a bird observation hike to the Bird House and enjoy hot cocoa inside while watching our feathered friends enjoy their bird treat outside.

Birds are everywhere, all the time, doing fascinating things.  The entire world comes together for the love of birds during Audubon’s Great Backyard Bird Count held every year for 4 days in February. This year the count will be from February 16–19. The data collected helps scientists better understand and protect birds. The birds counted during this event will be submitted to the Great Backyard Bird Count. To find out more about the Great Backyard Bird Count visit www.birdcount.org.

All ages are welcome to this free program. Children under age 16 need to be supervised by an adult. Binoculars will be available to borrow. For accessibility questions visit Accessibility Information | Missouri State Parks (mostateparks.com). The Arrow Rock State Historic Site Visitor Center is located at 39521 Visitor Center Drive in Arrow Rock, Mo 65320.
