10th Annual BioBlitz and Prairie Day

You are invited to a free weekend of fun and learning at this Prairie Day and 10th Annual Prairie Bioblitz to be held at Dr. Wayne Morton’s prairie near Cole Camp, MO on June 1 and 2, 2019.

Watch a flintknapper at work, try your hand at the atlatl, and learn from other artisans. Join biologists on the prairie and learn about prairie plants, soils, birds, insects, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and more! The weekend will also feature a potluck dinner with wild game samples, free tent camping, and nocturnal insect observations & star gazing. Activities continue through early afternoon on Sunday. Stay for a few hours or the whole weekend! 

The Hi Lonesome Chapter of Missouri Master Naturalists is organizing the Prairie Day portion of the weekend, and the Missouri Prairie Foundation is organizing the 10th Anniversary Prairie BioBlitz portion of the weekend. This event is free of charge, and an interest in nature and prairie history is all that is required to attend. Scroll down for the full schedule of events; registration for specific Prairie BioBlitz events is below the full schedule.No registration necessary for the Prairie Day events, but registration is required for the Prairie BioBlitz events.
