MRBO position on 2021 legislation

State Legislation

MRBO supports the following proposed bills:
HB 369 – prescribed fire insurance: allows private landowners to obtain liability insurance for conducting prescribed burns for habitat management and forage improvement purposes.
SB 249 – community solar: prohibits political subdivisions from enacting bans on community solar initiatives.
SB 202 – energy securitization – allows utility companies to access reasonable refinancing options that facilitate clean energy investments.

MRBO opposes the following bills:
HJR 55 – changes the composition of the Missouri Conservation Commission: enlarges and changes the composition of the currently bipartisan Conservation Commission.  
HB 140  – “mulligan” on wildlife code violations: requires Conservation Department wildlife protection agents to issue only warnings for violations for two years after a wildlife management rule is enacted.

HB 1046 – conveyance of public land: requires that the Missouri Department of Natural Resources/Missouri State Parks sell the Eleven Point State Park.
